Crl.M.P.No.21554 of 2025 in Crl.A.SR.No.82271 of 2025 SUNDER MOHAN, J.

This petition has been filed to condone the delay of 525 days in filing the criminal appeal challenging the judgment passed by the Trial Court.

2. The learned counsel for the petitioner would submit that there was a delay since the petitioner was not aware of the acquittal proceedings and he came to know of the judgment only during the course of hearing of Crl.O.P.No.1773 of 2023; therefore, the delay is neither wilful nor wanton.

3. The learned counsel for the first respondent/accused would submit that the prayer for condonation of delay has not been properly explained.

4. Heard the Additional Public Prosecutor for the second respondent and perused the materials available on record.

5. Being satisfied with the reasons stated in the affidavit filed in support of this petition, the delay of 525 days is condoned and the petition is ordered. 29.01.2026 Mac Note: Registry is directed to number the appeal, if it is otherwise in order. https://www.mhc.tn.gov.in/judis
