The petitioners have filed the present Criminal Original Petition seeking a direction to the learned Additional Mahila Court, Egmore, Chennai, to dispose of the case pending against them in C.C.No.26 of 2024, arising out of Crime No.8 of 2023 registered for the offences under Sections 498(A), 120(B) IPC r/w Section 34 of IPC on the file of the respondent Police, within a stipulated time.

When the matter was taken up for hearing today, the learned Government Advocate (Criminal Side), on instructions, submitted that there are ten witnesses in this case, out of whom one witness has already been examined. He further submitted that the respondent Police are ready to produce the remaining witnesses on the dates fixed by the trial Court. Heard both sides and perused the materials available on record.

Taking into consideration the facts of the case and the submissions made by the learned Government Advocate (Criminal Side), 2/4

this Court directs the learned Additional Mahila Court, Egmore, Chennai, to dispose of the case in C.C.No.26 of 2024, as expeditiously as possible, preferably, within a period of six months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. The respondent Police shall ensure that the witnesses are produced before the trial Court without fail. 5.

Accordingly, this Criminal Original Petition stands disposed of.
