Respondents Prayer: Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying for issuance of Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents to consider the petitioner's representation dated 27.10.2025 and consequently, grant 30 days parole to the petitioner's husband Thiru.Surulivel (PID No.136388), confined in Central Prison, Puzhal, Chennai to attend the obsequies of his son-in-law on 31.10.2025.

O R D E R
(By N.Sathish Kumar,J.,) The petitioner seeks ordinary leave for 30 days to her husband / Convict, namely, Surulivel (PID No.136388) on account of the death of her son-in-law.
2. According to the petitioner, her 2nd daughter was married to one Sudhakar, who fell down in a pond and died on 25.10.2025. His funeral was held on 26.10.2025. The final rites are scheduled to be conducted on 31.10.2025 and therefore, the presence of her husband is very much essential to perform the ceremony.
3. Learned Additional Public Prosecutor stated that no request whatsoever has been made to the Prison Authorities and the petitioner has straightaway filed the present petition.

4. We have perused the material documents available on record.
5. The Convict is in custody for more than 6 years and he has not availed any leave so far. Considering the fact that the obsequies of the petitioner's son-in-law are scheduled on 31.10.2025, we are inclined to grant leave for 15 days to the Convict.
6. Accordingly, we direct the respondents to grant leave to the petitioner's husband / Convict, namely, Surulivel (PID No.136388), confined in Central Prison, Puzhal, Chennai for 15 days from 31.10.2025 to 14.11.2025 with minimum escort, subject to usual / other conditions that may be imposed by the respondents. After expiry of the Leave, the convict prisoner shall surrender before the Jail Authority on 15.11.2025 on or before 10.00am. The prisoner shall utilize the leave only for the purpose for which it has been granted and shall not indulge in any other activities. N.SATHISH KUMAR, J.
