ORDER
This Writ Petition has been filed seeking a direction to the 3rd respondent to consider the petitioner for promotion to the post of Clerk. Page NO.2/7
2. Heard the learned counsel appearing on either side and perused the materials available on record.
3. The petitioner was initially appointed as a Salesman in the Sakkaraichetti Patti Primary Agricultural Society on 01.10.1997 on a dailywage basis. He was brought under a consolidated monthly salary with effect from 01.10.1998. Thereafter, he was promoted as a Junior Clerk with effect from 31.05.2023. The petitioner's next avenue of promotion is the post of Clerk. On coming to know that the respondents were going to fill up a vacant post of Clerk in the said Society, he submitted a representation requesting that he be considered for the said post.
4. Admittedly, a minimum of three years of service in the post of Junior Clerk is required to become eligible for appointment as Clerk. However, the petitioner has not completed three years of service in the post of Junior Clerk, as he was promoted to the said post only with effect from 31.05.2023. Therefore, the request of the petitioner cannot be considered and the Writ Petition is liable to be dismissed.
