ORDER
The present writ petition has been filed, seeking to direct the respondents to consider the petitioner's representation dated 06.09.2025 and further to recognise the petitioner as the tenant for the property located in No.315, Mint Street, Chennai 03, instead of Petitioner's husband late Mr.Jayabalan.
2. The petitioner is the wife of the tenant under the temple. According to the petitioner, subsequent to the demise of her husband, the petitioner has requested the temple to recognise her as tenant and representation has also been 2/5
given on 06.09.2025. It is also the case of the petitioner that earlier the petitioner's husband challenged the unilateral enhancement of rent demanded by the respondents' official and the husband of the petitioner also approached this Court, and this Court in C.R.P.No.2686 of 2010 by order dated 06.08.2020, had directed the authorities to afford an opportunity to the petitioner's husband and fix a fair rent in accordance with rules.
3. The grievance of the petitioner is that, despite direction of this Court, a fair rent was not fixed complying with the orders passed by this Court. Be that as it may, considering that the petitioner has already given a representation on 06.09.2025 to recognise her as a tenant in the place of the deceased husband.
4. Heard both sides and perused the materials available on record.
5. It would suffice to dispose of the writ petition by directing the 1st respondent to consider the petitioner's representation dated 06.09.2025, and after affording an opportunity by way of personal hearing to the petitioner, shall 3/5
pass final orders, within a period of eight (8) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. No costs. Consequently, connected Miscellaneous Petition is closed.
