ORDER

The petitioner, who apprehend arrest at the hands of the respondent police for the alleged offences punishable under Sections 6(4) TN of Scheduled commodities Act (RDCS) order 1982 & 7(1)(a)(ii) Essential Commodities Act, 1655 in Crime No.234 of 2024, seeks anticipatory bail.

2. The allegation against the petitioner is that, this petitioner transporting 10,200 kgs of PDS intended for the public distribution system, allegedly for use as chicken feed.

3. The learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that the petitioner purchased the rice from a valid sale consideration and it was not PDS rice. Hence, he prayed for grant of anticipatory bail to the petitioner.

3. The learned Government Advocate (Crl.Side) would submit that this is a case involving 10,200 bags of rice intended for the public distribution system. Hence, he opposed for grant of anticipatory bail to the petitioner.

4. Although the petitioner claims to have receipts for the purchase, the fact remains that the petitioner purchased PDS rice and admitted to using it to feed chickens. In such circumstances, I am not inclined to grant bail to the
