O R D E R
This writ petition has been filed challenging the order dated 08.10.2025 passed by the first respondent, thereby suspending the petitioner from service.
2. The petitioner was appointed as Assistant Professor (Veterinary Parasitology) and subsequently, he was promoted to the post of Associate Professor and further promoted as Professor in the Tamil Nadu Veterinary and Animal Sciences University. Thereafter, he was selected and appointed as Director, Centre for Animal Health Studies. Subsequently, the petitioner participated in the selection to the post of Dean, Madras Veterinary College in the year 2024. Thereafter, he was selected and appointed as Dean, Madras Veterinary College, Chennai.
3. While being so, the second respondent issued a notification dated 14.08.2025 referring to the financial irregularities committed by the 2/6
Chief Executive Officer of Veterinary Incubation Foundation (VIF) of Tamil Nadu Veterinary and Animal Sciences University, which remains to be a Central Government funded scheme including allotment of fund by University. It happened when the petitioner was holding the post of Director, Centre for Animal Health Studies. The petitioner submitted an explanation and it was not satisfactory in nature. Therefore, the petitioner was served with a charge memo consisting three charges.
4. On perusal of the charge memo, it is revealed that the petitioner deliberately and wilfully failed to discharge duties, thereby causing loss to the University to the tune of Rs.6,47,74,061/-. In pursuant to the charge memo, the petitioner was suspended by an order dated 08.10.2025.

The learned counsel for the petitioner would submit that when the petitioner was working as Director, Centre for Animal Health Studies, the alleged occurrence happened and in fact, as per the charge memo, he failed to supervise properly. Subsequently, the petitioner was selected to the post of Dean and now he is holding the post of Dean, Madras Veterinary College, 3/6
Chennai. Therefore, the order of suspension is unnecessary and it is cannot be sustained.
6. The said contention cannot be countenanced only for the reason that in pursuance of the charge memo, the petitioner was suspended from service and the charges are grave in nature. Therefore, the continuation of the petitioner's service would cause prejudice to the disciplinary proceedings. Hence, the petitioner was rightly suspended from service and this Court finds no infirmity or illegality in the order passed by the first respondent.
7. In the result, this Writ Petition is dismissed. Consequently, the connected Miscellaneous Petitions are closed. No costs 11.11.2025 Index:Yes/No kv To 4/6
