Writ Petition (Criminal) filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India for issuance of a Writ of Mandamus to direct the respondents to forthwith provide the petitioner with the certified copy of the complete and final postmortem report of her deceased son, Late Manimaran, including the viscera analysis report, in connection with Crime No.13 of 2025 on the file of the 4th Respondent Police Station.

ORDER

This writ petition (criminal) has been filed seeking to direct the respondents to forthwith provide the petitioner with the certified copy of the complete and final postmortem report of her deceased son, Late Manimaran, including the viscera analysis report, in connection with Crime No.13 of 2025 on the file of the 4th Respondent.

Learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that the petitioner's son viz, Manimaran passed away on 16.01.2025 and in connection with the said incident, an FIR came to be registered in Crime No.13 of 2025 for the offence under Section 194 of the BNSS, 2023, by the 4th respondent. The postmortem examination was conducted on 17.01.2025 at the Government Hospital, Sirkali under the administrative control of the 5th respondent and though a provisional report was issued, the final report has not been issued, till date. Aggrieved, the petitioner submitted a written representation before the 3rd respondent on 23.07.2025 and also made representations before the 4th and 5th respondents on 26.08.2025, seeking copy of the final report besides making an application under the RTI Act. However, the same evoked no response and till date, the petitioner has not been proved with the final report. Aggrieved by the inaction on the part of the respondents, the petitioner has come up with this petition.

3. Mr.K.M.D.Muhilan, learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing for the respondents submitted that the copies of the final 3/6

postmortem report dated 14.11.2025 and the viscera analysis report dated 22.08.2025, of the petitioner's deceased son, viz., late Manimaran have been received by the respondent police and steps have been taken to file the same before the jurisdictional court.

4. Further, photocopies of the aforesaid documents have also been handed over to the learned counsel for the petitioner on record before this Court today.

5. In view of the above, this writ petition (criminal) stands disposed of. No costs.
