PRAYER Writ petition filed under Article 226 of Constitution of India for the issuance of writ of Mandamus directing the respondents to rectify the measurement error in the patta, FMB Sketch and other revenue records as per the Registered Sale Deeds No.873/1986, 874/1986 and 875/1986 through considering the petitioners representation dated 14.10.2024 within the period that may be stipulated by this Court. ORDER
This writ petition has been filed for the issue of writ of Mandamus directing the respondents to consider the representation made by the petitioner on 14.10.2024 wherein the petitioner is seeking for rectification of the error in the patta, FMB sketch and other revenue records.

Heard Mr.A.Arun Kumar, learned counsel for the petitioner and Mr.P.Ganesan, learned Government Advocate for respondents 1 to 5.

The case of the petitioner is that the subject property originally belonged to one Manickkammal, who executed three Sale deeds on 04.12.1986 in favour of her three sons. One of the son was the father of the petitioner viz., Palanisamy. 4.
During the UDR scheme, the property was wrongly subdivided and the measurements were erroneously entered into the revenue records. According to the petitioner, instead of 1 acre 91 cents, the revenue records reflects only 1 Acre 88 Cents. Similar corrections must be carried out for the other two co-owners also. It is under these circumstances, after the demise of the petitioner's father, the petitioner made a representation dated 14.10.2024 before the 1st respondent seeking for rectification. The 1st respondent on receipt of the representation directed the 3rd respondent to verify and submit a report. According to the petitioner, the 3rd respondent thereafter issued proceedings dated 22.11.2024 directing the 5th respondent to take necessary action. Subsequently, the 4th respondent through proceedings dated 04.12.2024 directed the 5th respondent to take appropriate action. Even though, the file was moved from one authority to another, no effective steps were taken. It is under these circumstances, the present writ petition has been filed before this
Court.

Taking into consideration the facts and circumstances of the case and considering the materials placed before this Court, there shall be a direction to the 1st respondent to act upon the representation dated 14.10.2024, on its own merits and in accordance with law and pass appropriate orders, within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of the copy of this order. 6.
This writ petition is disposed of with the above directions. No costs.
