Prayer: Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India for issuance of a Writ of Mandamus directing the first respondent to take appropriate action against the illegal quarrying operations of the sixth Respondent, including cancellation of quarry lease granted to the Sixth Respondent in Survey No.530/2A3 (part), Myvadi Village, Madathukulam Taluk, Tiruppur District in the light of the report submitted by the Third Respondent in Na.Ka.No.l921/2025/A3 dated 31-07-2025. ORDER

(Order of the Court was made by the Hon'ble Chief Justice) Petition has been filed alleging inaction on the part of the District Collector, despite report having been forwarded to him by the Tahsildar, Madathukulam Taluk, Tiruppur District, vide memo dated 31.07.2025, regarding alleged illegal operation of quarry by the sixth respondent.

2. The learned State Counsel at this stage would submit that acting upon the report of the Tahsildar, the fifth respondent has been called upon to submit a report on 20.11.2025, and after receipt of report, action, in accordance with law, would be taken, as early as

possible.

3. In view of the statement so made, this petition is disposed of with a direction to the District Collector to conclude the inquiry, after obtaining report of the Block Development Officer, and giving an opportunity of hearing to the private respondent, within a period of six weeks. There will be no order as to costs. Consequently, WMP No.52440 of 2025 is also closed.
