ORDER
(Order of the Court was made by the Hon'ble Chief Justice) The petitioner's apprehension, as set out in the petition, that the respondents may proceed to relocate the TASMAC shop in the lands of K.Anbu Rajendran located at Methakottaikadu, Aataiyampatti Salem District, appears to be without any basis in view of what has been stated by the learned State Counsel, on instructions.
2. Learned State counsel has placed for perusal of the Court, a copy of the order passed by the District Collector dated 28.10.2025, which states that the TASMAC shop at the present location is temporarily closed because of objection by the public. He would submit that the authority shall act strictly in accordance with law in the matter of relocation of TASMAC shop as provided under Rule 8(3) of the Tamil
Nadu Liquor Retail Vending (in Shops and Bars) Rules, 2003. He would submit that till date, no order has been passed by the District Collector authorising relocation of TASMAC shop in the village of the petitioner.
3. Placing on record the said statement, the petition is disposed of. There will be no order as to costs.
