The present Criminal Original Petition has been filed seeking a direction to the respondent Police to complete the investigation and file a final report in Crime No.132 of 2025 before the jurisdictional Court. 1/4

The case of the petitioner is that based on a complaint alleging that the petitioner's mother was missing, a case in Crime No.132 of 2025 was registered for "Woman Missing". Thereafter, the petitioner filed a Habeas Corpus Petition before this Court in H.C.P.No.1610 of 2025 and this Court, by an order dated 20.08.2025, directed the respondent to expedite the investigation in Crime No.132 of 2025 and to file a final report as expeditiously as possible. Since the final report has not been filed till date, the present petition has been filed.

Learned Government Advocate (Criminal Side) appearing for the respondent Police, on instructions, submitted that during the course of investigation in Crime No.132 of 2025, it was found that the woman alleged to be missing is living with another person. Therefore, finding that the petitioner's mother is not missing and had voluntarily left the matrimonial home and is living with another person, the respondent has closed the First Information Report in Crime No.132 of 2025 as "further action dropped" and that the RCS notice is yet to be served.
