ORDER

This writ petition has been filed challenging the impugned proceedings of the 4th respondent dated 11.9.2025 and for a consequential direction to the 4th respondent to change the name of the 6th respondent and to issue fresh patta in the name of the petitioner.

2.Heard Mr.S.Arokia Mani Raj, learned counsel for the petitioner and Mr.C.Jayaprakash, learned Government Advocate for R1 to R5. 3.In the considered view of this Court, the order passed by the 4th respondent is an appellable order under the Tamil Nadu Patta Passbook Act, 1983. Hence, the petitioner without filing an appeal cannot be directly approach this Court and file a writ petition.

4.In view of the above, liberty is granted to the petitioner to file an appeal before the RDO, Cuddalore and on receipt of the same the RDO shall issue notice to the petitioner and the rival party and conduct an enquiry and pass final

orders within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of the fresh representation/appeal from the petitioner.
