(Order of the Court was made by P.VELMURUGAN, J.) With regard to the contradictions in the status reports filed regarding number of cases pending at CSR stage, this Court by order dated 20.02.2026, had directed the Administrative Officer (Crime), Greater Chennai Police, Chennai, the Joint Commissioner of Police, Head Quarters, Greater Chennai Police, Vepery, Chennai and the Assistant Inspector General of Police (High Court Cases Monitoring Cell), Chennai, to appear before this Court on 23.02.2026.
2. Accordingly, today (23.02.2026), the Officers viz., (i)Mr.S.Maheswaran, Joint Commissioner of Police, Head Quarters, Greater Chennai Police, (ii) Mr.Sankar, Administrative Officer, Crime, Greater Chennai Police, (iii) Mr.Balaji Saravanan, Assistant Inspector General of
Police (High Court Cases Monitoring Cell), O/o the Director General of Police and (iv) Mr.Selva Kumar, Administrative Officer, Crime, O/o the Director General of Police appeared before this Court and they were advised to rectify the mistakes and to instruct their immediate officers upto the Station House Officers not to commit any such mistakes in future.
