PRAYER : Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India seeking issuance of a writ of mandamus directing the 1st respondent to pass orders on the petitioner's representation dated 22.11.2024 with regard to cancellation of patta stands in the name of the third respondent in respect of the land to an extent of 0.52.71 Ares comprised in Survey No.214/14 situated at Lakshmanapuram Street, Koogaiyur Village, Chinna Salem Taluk, Kallakurichi District-606 702 within a stipulated period that may be fixed by this Hon'ble Court. ORDER

(Order of the Court was made by the Hon'ble Chief Justice) Heard learned counsel for the parties.

2. Similar complaint made earlier in another public interest litigation was considered by this Court vide order dated 30.7.2025 and the petition was disposed of.

3. The second round of petition has been initiated

ventilating a grievance that the proceedings in the matter of verification of grant of patta earlier issued in favour of the private respondent has not been concluded till date. Therefore, the petitioner had to again come to the Court.

4. It is also brought to the notice of this Court by learned State counsel that, in fact, respondent No.3 has filed a suit (O.S.No.91 of 2020), in which, the petitioner and the revenue officials are also parties.

5. The petitioner seems to be misleading this Court and suppressing the fact of pendency of the suit since 2020, in which he himself is party and attempting to seek indulgence of this Court to open a parallel proceeding. It is abuse and misuse of the writ proceedings.

6. The writ petition is dismissed with costs of Rs.50,000/- (Rupees Fifty Thousand only) payable by the petitioner to Puducherry Legal Services Authority, within a period of one

month from today.
