ORDER

This writ petition has been filed for issue of writ of mandamus directing the 3rd respondent to remove the name of one Aranganathan from the 'A' Register pertaining to the subject property based on the representation made by the petitioner on 18.12.2024.

2.Heard Mr.Avinash Wadhwani, learned counsel appearing on behalf of the petitioner and Mr.D.Ravichander, learned Special Government Pleader appearing on behalf of respondents 1 to 4.

3.The learned counsel for the petitioner brought to the notice of this Court the report that has already been submitted by the Tahsildar, Bhuvanagiri to the Revenue Divisional Officer, Chidambaram, to remove the name of Aranganathan and to restore the name of the petitioner in the patta. The name of Aranganathan continues to be reflected in the 'A' Register pertaining to the subject property. Therefore, the petitioner submitted a

4/7 representation to the 3rd respondent to remove the name of Aranganathan. Since the same was not considered, the present writ petition has been filed before this Court.

4.The learned Special Government Pleader, on instructions, submitted that only the Divisional Revenue Officer is the competent authority to remove the name from the 'A' Register.

5.In view of the above, liberty is granted to the petitioner to make a fresh representation to the District Revenue Officer, Cuddalore, seeking for the removal of the name of Aranganathan from the 'A' Register along with all the relevant documents and also a copy of this order. On receipt of the same, the District Revenue Officer, Cuddalore, shall deal with the same on its own merits in accordance with law and pass appropriate orders, within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of the fresh representation from the petitioner.
