ORDER

This writ petition has been filed for the issue of writ of Mandamus directing the 2nd respondent to act upon the representation made by the petitioner wherein the petitioner is seeking for rectification of the error in the revenue records with respect to the subject property.

Heard Mr.S.Udhaya Kumar, learned counsel for the petitioner and Mr.S.Rajesh, learned Government Advocate for respondents 1 and 2.

It is seen from records that the mistake had crept in during the UDR scheme. Therefore, it is only the concerned District Revenue Officer (DRO), who is the competent authority to rectify the error.

In the light of the above discussion, liberty is granted to the petitioner to submit a fresh representation to the District

Revenue Officer, Chennai along with all the relevant documents and also a copy of this order. On receipt of the same, the DRO shall take a decision and pass final orders, within a period of twelve weeks from the date of receipt of the representation from the petitioner. 5.

This writ petition is disposed of with the above directions. No costs.
