This Writ Petition has been filed challenging the order of suspension dated 23.05.2025 passed by the second respondent.
2. Heard the learned counsel for both sides and perused the materials available on record.
3. The petitioner while working as a Village Administrative Officer, is alleged to have demanded and received a bribe amount of Rs.4,000/- and was caught red-handed. Pursuant to the registration of the First Information Report in Crime No.08/AC/2025 for the offences punishable under Sections 7(a) and 7(b) of the Prevention of Corruption (Amendment) Act, 2018, he was deemed to have been suspended from service by order dated 23.05.2025.
4. The learned counsel for the petitioner would submit that the investigation is still pending in Crime No. 08/AC/2025 and no charge memo has been served on the petitioner so far to initiate the disciplinary proceedings.

5. On perusal of records, it is seen that the petitioner is involved in very serious offences pertaining to receipt of illegal gratifiation. Therefore, this Court finds no infirmity or illegality in the order of suspension.
6. In the result, this Writ Petition stands dismissed. However, the respondents are directed to initiate disciplinary proceedings against the petitioner in the manner known to law, notwithstanding the pendency of the criminal case under investigation. Simultaneous proceedings may be initiated and continued both departmentally as well as in the criminal case. Consequently, the connected Miscellaneous Petition is closed.
