Writ petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India for the issuance of a writ of mandamus directing the respondent to consider my petitioner under Section 23(1) Puducherry Settlement Act, 1970 dated 23.09.2025 pending on the file of the Settlement Tahsildar-II, Directorate of Survey and Land Records, Puducherry and to dispose of the same within a stipulated period of time as fixed by this Court.

ORDER
This writ petition has been filed for the issue of a writ of mandamus directing the respondent to deal with the petition dated 23.9.2025 made by the petitioner seeking for the survey of the property under Section 23(1) of Puducherry Settlement Act, 1970.
2.When the matter was taken up for hearing today, the learned Additional Government Pleader produced the written instructions received from the Settlement Tahsildar and the relevant portions are extracted hereunder:

It is informed that the petition was taken on file and at the first instance, the file was forwarded to the Survey Section for furnishing state on ground particulars in respect of possession and enjoyment of the petitioner and the registered holder under R.S.No.166/6 of 58-Pandasozhanallur Revenue Village and field survey report was also obtained.
3. Further, summons were served to the petitioner and opposite parties and hearings were conducted on various dates.
4. Further, it is informed that the enquiry is in the final stage and the orders will be passed on merits based on the documents produced by the petitioner and the counter petitioners. 3.In view of the above, there shall be a direction to the respondent to take a final decision within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of copy of the order.
