The petitioner, who was arrested and remanded to judicial custody on 18.09.2025, for the offence punishable under Sections 406, 420, 465, 467, 468, 506(i) of IPC in Crime No.25 of 2025, registered on the file of the respondent, seeks bail.

2. The allegation against the petitioner is that the petitioner along with one Shyamala received money from the defacto complainant and others through one Sathyamoorthy totaling a sum of Rs.1,25,00,000/-, by promising to secure job at foreign countries, however the accused have not obtained foreign job as assured, thereby cheated the defacto complainant and other victims. When the defacto complainant and others demanded their money, the accused have repaid a portion of amount and failed to repay a sum of Rs.82,50,000/-. Hence, the case.

3. The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submitted that the petitioner is an innocent person and he has been falsely implicated in this case. Hence, he prayed for grant of bail to the petitioner.

4. The learned Government Advocate (Crl. Side) reiterated the prosecution case and submitted that the petitioner is an habitual offendor and there are five previous cases of similar in nature. He further submitted that the specific overt act against the petitioner is that the petitioner has received a sum of Rs.25 lakhs in his account.

5. Considering the magnitude of the amount cheated by the accused and the bad antecedents of the petitioner, and so far no amount is recovered and bail is granted it would hamper the investigation, hence this Court is not inclined to grant bail to the petitioner.
