Respondents Prayer : Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India seeking a writ of Mandamus to direct the respondents 1 to 4 to take all and necessary action against the 6th respondent for unauthorised construction and demolish the unauthorised and deviated portion and consequently direct the 5th and 6th respondents to adhere to the Rules and leave the setback space as per the Tamil Nadu Development and Building Rules.

(Order of the Court was made by the Hon'ble Chief Justice) Petitioner's allegation of inaction on his representation made on 22.10.2025 is unfounded in the wake of statement made by

learned counsel for Corporation that as soon as petitioner made complaint on 22.10.2025, site was inspected and notice has been issued to sixth respondent on 25.10.2025.

2. In view of the above, there is no doubt that the Corporation has not only taken cognizance of the complaint, but has also promptly initiated proceedings against sixth respondent.
