Respondents Prayer: Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India for issuance of a Writ of Mandamus directing the respondents 1 to 5 to take immediate and effective action against the unauthorized and illegal construction put up by the 6th respondent at New Door No.27, Badrian Street, Sowcarpet, Chennai 600 001, and by demolishing the portions constructed beyond the sanctioned plan (i.e., the Second and Third Floors), and to initiate appropriate penal and disciplinary proceedings against the officials and persons responsible for allowing such illegal construction based upon the petitioner representation dated 11.06.2025.

ORDER

(Order of the Court was made by the Hon'ble Chief Justice) This petition has been filed seeking issuance of a direction to remove the construction put up by the private respondent, which is alleged illegal.

2. There is no allegation that the private respondent has encroached upon the public street or Government land. The petitioner has, otherwise, no locus standi, as he does not allege that he has suffered any legal injury.
