ORDER

This Writ Petition has been filed challenging the impugned Provisional selection list dated 27.10.2025 published by the 2nd respondent with regard to Joint Recruitment for the posts of Sub-Inspector of Police (Taluk, AR and TSP) and Station officers, Fire and Rescue Services Department - 2023 and quash the same, consequently direct the respondents to select the petitioner as Station Officer, Fire and Rescue Services Department of Sub-Inspector of Police-AR and appoint her in the said post.

2. Heard, Mr.M.R.Jothimanian, learned counsel appearing for the petitioner, Mr.P.Balathandayutham, learned Special Government Pleader for R1 __________Page 2 of 6

and Mr.P.Kumaresan, learned Additional Advocate General assisted by Ms.D.Sowmi Dattan for R2.

The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner would submit that the petitioner completed degree course in B.E., Electrical and Electronics Engineering and belonging to Most Backward Class (MBC) Community. On 05.05.2023, the 2nd respondent issued a notification in Notification No.01/2023 dated 05.05.2023 inviting applications from the eligible candidates for thepost of Sub-Inspectors of Police for Taluk, Armed Reserve and Tamil Nadu Special Police (Men, Women and Transgenders) and Stations in Fire & Rescue Services Department (Men and Women-2023 and the petitioner has applied through online for the joint recruitment to the post of Sub-Inspector of Police and Station Officer in Fire and Rescue Department and she secured 75.75 marks under the MBC / DNC in non-PSTM Category.

The grievance of the petitioner is that the 2nd respondent selected some of the MBC/DNC candidates who have secured lesser marks than the petitioner. He would further submit that if at all the petitioner not secured the marks in the Station officer then the petitioner has to be converted into other category however, without converting to the other category, non-selecting the petitioner is not acceptable one. Accordingly, he prayed for appropriate orders.

Per contra, the learned Government Advocate appearing for the respondents would submit that the petitioner has secured 75.50 marks whereas the cut off marks for MBC-Women has been fixed as 76 and, if at all the petitioner has any grievance, the petitioner has to challenge the Judicial Committee report or impleading themselves in the appropriate manner. He would also submit that the respondents have no part in the entire selection process, since the same was made by the Judicial Committee. Accordingly, he prayed for appropriate orders.

5. In view of the same, these writ petitions are dismissed with liberty to the petitioners to workout their remedy in the manner known to law. No costs. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petitions are closed. The respondents are directed to publish the Judicial Committee report in the official website of the respondents within a period of one week from the date of receipt of a copy of this order, to enable the petitioners to access the same. 22-01-2026 Index: Yes/No Speaking/Non-speaking order KKN __________Page 4 of 6
