ORDER

This Writ Petition has been filed challenging the order passed by the respondent dated 29.08.2025, thereby the petitioner was directed to produce documents showing the closure of the criminal case pending against him.

2. Heard, the learned counsel appearing on either side and perused the materials placed before this Court.

3. The petitioner had applied for the posts under Group-II and IIA pursuant to the notification issued by the respondent on 20.06.2024. The petitioner was selected for the Group-IIA post and was called for certificate verification. During the certificate verification, it was found that a criminal case was pending against the petitioner. Hence, he was directed to produce proof of closure of the said criminal case within a period of 15 days.

The learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that a criminal case in Crime No.243 of 2022 was registered against the petitioner due to a civil dispute and the same has now been taken on file as C.C.No.173 of 2025, which is pending on the file of the District Munsif-cum-Judicial Magistrate, Kodumudi, Erode. Therefore, the petitioner seeks an additional period of six Page No.2/4

months to produce the judgment in the said criminal case.

5. In view of the above, this Court finds no illegality or irregularity in the impugned order passed by the respondent dated 29.08.2025. Accordingly, the Writ Petition stands dismissed. However, the respondent is directed to keep the petitioner's provisional selection intact for a further period of six months from today, without cancelling the same, to enable the petitioner to produce the judgment in the pending criminal case. In the event the petitioner is acquitted, the respondent is directed to implement the petitioner's selection in accordance with law. No costs. Consequently, the connected Miscellaneous Petition is closed.
