ORDER

The petitioner, who was arrested and remanded to judicial custody on 04.10.2025, for the alleged offence punishable under Sections 8(c) 20(b)(ii)(B) of the Narcotics Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act 1985 in Crime No.1164 of 2025, on the file of the respondent police, seeks bail. 2.The allegation against this petitioner is that he was involved in the transportation of 2.775 kgs of ganja, and he was arrested, and the property was seized on 4.10.2025. Hence the case.

3.The learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that the quantity seized is an intermediate quantity, and the petitioner has been in custody since 04.10.2025. Hence, he prays for grant bail to the petitioner. 4.The learned Government Advocate (Criminal Side) reported that the petitioner has bad antecedents and has already been involved in two previous cases. This is his third case, and investigation is pending. He was arrested only on 04.10.2025. Hence, he opposed for grant of bail to the petitioner. 2/4

Considering the fact that the petitioner was arrested only on 04.10.2025, and he has also been involved in two previous cases, if the petitioner is granted bail, he will indulge in similar activities. Hence, I am not inclined to grant bail to the petitioner at this stage. Accordingly, this criminal original petition is dismissed.
