ORDER
This Writ Petition has been filed seeking a direction to the first respondent to consider the request made by the petitioner seeking appointment on compassionate ground.
2.Heard the learned counsel appearing on either side and perused the materials available on record.
3.The petitioner's father died while in service as a Driver in the respondent Corporation on 29.01.2001. The petitioner was a minor on the date of demise of his father. After a lapse of twenty four years, the petitioner has now sought a direction to the respondent to consider his application for appointment on compassionate ground.
4.After a lapse of twenty four years, the application submitted by the petitioner seeking employment on compassionate ground cannot be considered, since the compassionate appointment should be given within a period of three years from the date of demise of the employee. Further, the petitioner's family is not in indigent circumstances. Therefore, the request made by the petitioner was rightly rejected.
5.In view of the above, the writ petition lacks merits and is liable to be dismissed. Accordingly, this Writ Petition stands dismissed.
