ORDER

This Criminal Miscellaneous Petition has been filed to grant a further period of two months to complete the investigation and file the final report as per the direction of this Court in its order dated 30.07.2025 made in Crl.O.P.No.19886 of 2025.

2. The learned Governemnt Advocate (Crl.Side) appearing for the petitioners would submit that subsequent to the passing of the order of this Court dated 30.07.2025, the Superintendent of Police had appointed Thiru.Veeramani, Inspector of Police, Neyveli Town Police Station as investigating officer. He had taken up the investigation on 17.08.2025 and

several witnesses have been examined and, since no concrete proof could be secured even after several stages of investigation, a request has been made to the District Crime Records Bureau (DCRB), Cuddalore to furnish an advisory memo containing the list of habitual offenders in the district, so that they could be verified and interrogated for possible involvement in the case. The respondent police is also taking steps to verify various other criminals and the investigation is at an advanced stage. Hence, he sought to extend the period by further two months.

3. Being satisfied with the reasons stated in the affidavit, this Criminal Miscellaneous Petition stands ordered and the time is extended by two months from 27.11.2025.
