Shanmuga Priya @ Aaliya instead of B. Aaliya in the Birth Certificate issued by the Respondent No.1 on 15.07.2024 by considering the name of the petitioner in other Govt. ORDER

This petition has been filed seeking a direction to the Respondents herein to correct the Mothers name as B. Shanmuga Priya @ Aaliya instead of B. Aaliya in the Birth Certificate issued by the Respondent No.1 on 15.07.2024 by considering the name of the petitioner in other Govt. Ids like Aadhar Card, PAN Card, Voter Id, Passport, School Certificates, College Certificate and Birth Certificate within a stipulated time frame fixed by this Honble Court.

2. It is the case of the petitioner that the petitioner married one Yasir Arafath on 28.02.2018. During her marriage, she was changed her name as Aaliya for marriage registration purposes. A female child Anuvikha, was born on 24.02.2019 at PSG Hospital, Coimbatore. However, the hospital has wrongly recorded the petitioners name as B.Aaliya instead of her real name B.Shanmugapriya. All the Government documents and education documents of the petitioner have been shown as B.Shanmugapriya. Hence, the petitioner made a representation on 25.08.2025 to the respondents seeking correction of her name in the child's birth certificate and no action has been taken till date. Hence, the present writ petition.

3. The learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that this Court may direct the respondents to consider and pass orders on the petitioners representation within the stipulated time as fixed by this Court.

4. The learned counsel appearing for the respondents submitted that the representation will be considered and orders will be passed within the stipulated time as fixed by this Court.

5. Heard the learned counsel for both side and perused the materials available on record.

6. Considering the facts and circumstances of the case and in view of the limited request sought for by the petitioner, this court directs the second respondent to consider and pass orders on the petitioner's representation dated 25.08.2025 within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

7. With the above directions, the writ petition is disposed of.
