ORDER

This criminal original petition has been filed to direct the Learned District Munsif cum Judicial Magistrate II, Denkanikottai to dispose of the proceedings in M.C. No. 07 of 2024.

2.The petitioners had filed a maintenance case in M.C.No.7 of 2024 against her estranged husband the respondent herein. The matter was first listed for hearing on 13.12.2024. Till date, no orders have been passed. Though the case has been adjourned under the caption for order from 25.03.2025 for nearly 15 hearings, no decision has been rendered. Hence, the present petition.

3.It is seen that this Court, without going into merits of the case, finds that the petitioners have filed a maintenance petition for herself and her daughter. The respondent is a former Army man. From the adjudication records produced, it is seen that after issuance of notice and after hearing the submissions of the petitioners on six hearings, the case was posted for order on 25.03.2025. Thereafter, the matter has been periodically adjourned under the caption for orders. It was lastly adjourned to 11.11.2025 and subsequent adjudication dates have not been updated.

4.In view of the above, this Court directs the learned District Munsif cum Judicial Magistrate II, Denkanikottai, to dispose of M.C.No.7 of 2024 within a period of three weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. Non compliance of this direction will be viewed seriously. Accordingly, this criminal original petition is disposed of.
