ORDER

This writ petition has been filed challenging the notification issued by the 3rd respondent dated 29.08.2025 and the consequential notification issued by the 6th Respondent dated 29.08.2025, thereby notifying applications to fill up the posts of Jeep Driver, Record Clerk, Office Assistant and Night Watchman.

2. Heard the learned counsel on either side and perused the materials available on record.

3. The petitioner is qualified with B.C.A degree and eligible for appointment to the post as Record Clerk in the 6th respondent Panchayat Union. Though no list was called for from the Employment Exchange, as directed by the second respondent, the petitioner applied for the post of Record Clerk in the 6th respondent Panchayat Union on 04.09.2025. However, the petitioner came to understand that he was not selected for the said post. After having been applied pursuant to the notification and having failed in the selection process for the said post, the petitioner has now challenged the notifications.

On instructions, the learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the respondents submitted that as per the notification, a total of 1379 applications were received through online mode as well as through the Employment Exchange. Out of the same, 1141 applications were shortlisted as qualified and eligible for the said post. Thereafter, on 18.10.2025, the shortlisted candidates were informed about the certificate verification scheduled to be held on 27.10.2025 to 29.10.2025. About 500 candidates participated in the certificate verification.

5. He further submitted that based on the marks scored by the candidates, top scored candidates would be appointed in the said post. Therefore, there was

no irregularity in the selection process conducted by the respondents. Further, based on the marks obtained by the candidates, as per the criteria given under the educational and other qualifications, a merit list in descending order would be prepared. The merit list for the interview would be drawn in the ratio of 1:5 against the existing vacancies. Accordingly, interview is scheduled to be held on 14.11.2025. Further, after having been applied for the post as per the notification, the petitioner cannot challenge the notification itself.

6. In view of the above, the writ petition is devoid of merits and is liable to be dismissed. Accordingly, this writ petition stands dismissed. Consequently, connected Miscellaneous petitions are closed. No costs. 11.11.2025 Internet: Yes Index : Yes/No Speaking/Non Speaking order mn
