Mr.K.M.D. Muhilan, Additional Public Prosecutor Order When the matter was listed for hearing on 21.01.2026, this Court passed the following order:

"Alleging that the order of this Court dated 20.07.2022 in Crl.O.P.No.17683 of 2021, directing the respondent to file the final report within a period of three months, has not been complied with, the present contempt petition has been filed. 2.The learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing for the respondents submitted that originally, the case was pending before the Chennai Police Commissionerate and this Court, by order dated 20.07.2022, disposed of Crl.O.P.No.17683 of 2021, with the aforesaid direction. Subsequently, the Chennai Police Commissionerate was bifurcated and the case was transferred to the Tambaram Police Commissionerate. The Tambaram CCB, after completing the investigation, had filed the final report

before the jurisdictional Court at Tambaram on 01.07.2024. Later, on account of change of jurisdiction, the Judicial Magistrate, Tambaram, returned the final report, which was represented before the jurisdictional Magistrate namely, Judicial Magistrate, Kancheepuram on 18.09.2025 and the final report is yet to be taken on file. He further submitted that the order of this Court has been complied with and hence, the respondents may be absolved of the contempt proceedings.

3.Taking into consideration the fact that the order of this Court passed as early as 20.07.2022 and that till date, the final report has not been taken on file, the learned Judicial Magistrate, Kancheepuram, is directed to take the final report in Crime No.282 of 2011 on file within a period of two weeks from today. The respondent police shall report compliance before this Court on the next date of hearing 4.Post the matter on 04.02.2026."

2.Today, the Inspector of police, CCB, Team -II, Vepery, Chennai 600 007, is present before this Court.

3.The learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing for the respondents would submit that, pursuant to the orders passed by this Court dated 04.02.2026, the respondents have taken necessary steps to get the final report numbered and the same has now been taken on file in C.C.No.30 of 2026 by the Judicial Magistrate Court No.I, Kanchipuram. The case is posted for hearing on

03.03.2026. He would further submit that the delay occurred only on account of administrative reasons. It is also submitted that the respondents have due respect for this Court and that there was no wilful or deliberate intention to disobey the orders of this Court. Therefore, he prays that the respondents may be discharged from the contempt proceedings.

4.Recording the submission made by the learned Additional Public Prosecutor that the final report has been filed and also taken on file in C.C. No.30 of 2026 by the Judicial Magistrate Court No.I, Kanchipuram, this Contempt Petition in SR stage is closed. Consequently, the connected Sub Application is also closed.
