Respondent(s) PRAYER; This writ petition is filed under Article 226 of Constitution of India, to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the 3rd and 4th respondent to consider and pass orders on the petitioners representation dated 02.11.2025 and 03.11.2025 to sanction and disburse necessary financial assistance towards travel, accommodation, equipment and related expenses of the five para athletes selected to represent India at the World Ability Sports Games, Nakhon Ratchsima, Thailand, scheduled from 17.11.2025 to 24.11.2025, who are required to depart from Chennai International Airport on 16.11.2025. ORDER
This petition has been filed seeking a direction to the 3rd and 4th respondents to consider and pass orders on the petitioners representation dated 02.11.2025 and 03.11.2025 to sanction and disburse necessary financial assistance towards travel, accommodation, equipment and related expenses of the five para athletes selected to represent India at the World Ability Sports
Games, Nakhon Ratchsima, Thailand, scheduled from 17.11.2025 to 24.11.2025, who are required to depart from Chennai International Airport on 16.11.2025.
2. The learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that the this Court may direct the respondents to consider and pass orders on the petitioners representations within the stipulated time as fixed by this Court.
3. The learned counsel appearing for the 5 th respondent submitted that already the 3 rd respondent has forwarded 27 names to the 5 th respondent for participation in Thailand. Accordingly, they have been granted financial assistance to them. If the 3 rd respondent will forward the names of the athletes by considering the petitioner's representation, the decision will be taken by the 5 th respondent in accordance with law.
4. Heard the learned counsel for both side and perused the materials available on record. Since no adverse order is passed against the 3 rd respondent, notice to the 3 rd respondent is dispensed with.
5. In view of the above submission made by the learned counsel for the 5 th respondent, this court directs the 1 st and 3 rd respondents to consider and pass orders on the petitioner's representation dated 02.11.2025 and 03.11.2025 on
merits and in accordance with law, on or before 17.11.2025, if possible.
6. With the above directions, the writ petition is disposed of.
