The petitioner seeks grant of 'A' Class facilities to his father and elder brother / Remand Prisoners, namely, Khaleelur Rahman and Syed Farook, who are confined in Central Prison, Puzhal, Chennai in connection with a case in Crime No.666 of 2025 on the file of the M-4, Redhills Police Station, Chennai.
2. According to the petitioner, the Remand Prisoners are respectable persons in the society, as his father Khaleelur Rahman is the Managing Director of a Private Limited Company and his brother is also a Company's Director in the field of operations and compliance. Both are assessed to payment of income tax and as per Rule 602 of the Tamil Nadu Prison Rules, they are entitled for 'A' class facilities. Though he submitted a representation dated 07.11.2025 to the 1st respondent in this regard, the same has not been considered till now. Hence, the petitioner is before this Court.
3. Considering the limited scope of the relief sought for by the 2/4
petitioner, this Court directs the 1st respondent to consider the representation dated 07.11.2025 of the petitioner in respect of grant of 'A' Class facilities to the Remand Prisoners and pass appropriate orders thereon in accordance with law, within a period of two weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
4. With the above direction, this Writ Petition is disposed of. No costs.
