The present Criminal Original Petition has been filed seeking a direction to the first respondent police not to harass the petitioner under the guise of enquiry.

When the matter was taken up for hearing today, the learned Government Advocate (Criminal Side), on instructions, submitted that based on the complaint given by the second respondent alleging that the petitioner herein had not executed the sale deed after receiving the amount, the respondent Police are conducting an enquiry in C.S.R.No.1460 of 2025 and that the petitioner was called only for enquiry. He further submitted that the complaint will be closed after the enquiry, since the issue pertains to a civil dispute. He further submitted that the petitioner has not been harassed during the enquiry.

Recording the submission made by the learned Government Advocate (Criminal Side), this Criminal Original Petition stands closed. However, it is made clear that if the issue involved is civil in nature, the respondent Police shall not harass either of the parties and the complaint may be referred for appropriate action 19.11.2025 ham 2/4
