Prayer : Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents 2 to 5 to prepare and issue an approved panel for promotion to the post of Assistant for the year 2024-2025 and give promotion to them on seniority basis, as per revised guidelines for direct appointment to the post of Junior Assistant and above issued by the 2nd respondent and until such time the selection process started in pursuance of notification No.01/2025 dated 06.08.2025 for direct appointment to the post of Assistant issued by the 3rd respondent may be kept in abeyance.

This Writ petition has been filed seeking a direction to the respondents 2 to 5 to prepare and issue an approved panel for promotion to the post of Assistant for the year 2024-2025.
2. Heard the learned counsel appearing on either side and perused the materials available on record.
3.The petitioner is working as a Salesman in the Fair Price Shop run by the fourth respondent Co-operative Society. The petitioner does not fall
within the zone of consideration for promotion to the post of Assistant/Junior Assistant. Further, whenever the vacancy arises and if the petitioner is otherwise eligible, his case will be considered for promotion to the post of Assistant/Junior Assistant.
4.In view of the above, the representation submitted by the petitioner cannot be considered at this stage. Hence, the writ petition lacks merit and is liable to be dismissed.
