ORDER

(Order of the Court was made by G.R.Swaminathan J.) Heard both sides.

2. The petitioner was convicted and sentenced vide judgment dated 09.10.2023 in S.C.No.180 of 2017 by the III Additional District and Sessions Judge, Salem. The petitioner figured as A6 and he is presently confined in Central Prison, Salem. The petitioner is undergoing treatment for diabetic foot ulcer and it appears that his toe has to be amputated. Hence, he seeks interim bail. The petitioner, however, is not in a position to pay the cost for providing escort. Hence, instead of granting interim bail, we direct the prison authorities to immediately admit the petitioner in the Government Mohan Kumaramangalam Medical College Hospital, Salem. The petitioner will be given treatment in the said hospital for a period of 30 days. This shall be done as expeditiously as possible. The relatives of the petitioner would be at liberty to be with the petitioner or visit him when he is taking treatment in the said hospital. The Criminal Miscellaneous Petition is disposed of accordingly. (G.R.S.,J.) (V.L.N.,J.) 29.05.2026 mmi/ms
