ORDER

This Writ Petition has been filed seeking a direction to the respondents to initiate appropriate action to amend the conditions prescribed under G.O.No.39 dated 25.05.2022 and the guidelines issued under G.O.No.9 dated 18.01.2023, so as to extend the benefits of the welfare Board to all eligible workers of recognized Churches, irrespective of their period of membership, based on the petitioner's representation dated 16.10.2025.

2. Heard the learned counsels appearing on either side. With the consent of both sides, the Writ Petition is taken up for hearing at the admission stage itself.

It is the case of the petitioner that the petitioner's Association is dedicated to protecting and promoting the welfare of the Christian Minorities across the State and the Government also issued G.O.No.39 dated 25.05.2022 and guidelines in G.O.9 dated 18.01.2023 for their welfare, however with certain conditions. Aggrieved by the restricted conditions of the said G.Os. in regard to period of membership and service, the petitioner made a representation dated 15.02.2025 to the second respondent, who in turn,

addressed a letter dated 25.04.2025 to the Government recommending for suitable amendments to the conditions laid down in G.O.No.39 of 2022, however, no response from the Government. The petitioner also made a representation dated 16.10.2025 to the respondents seeking necessary amendments in G.O.No.39 and G.O.No.9 dated 25.05.2022 & 18.01.2023 respectively, so to extend the benefits of the Welfare Board to all eligible workers, irrespective of their membership period, which evoked no response and hence, the present Writ Petition.

In view of the limited prayer sought for by the petitioner in this Writ Petition, there shall be a direction to the first respondent to consider the petitioner's representation dated 16.10.2025 and to pass appropriate orders on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

5. With the above direction, the Writ Petition is disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs.
