ORDER
The petitioner, who was arrested and remanded to judicial custody on 29.10.2025, for the alleged offence punishable under Sections 4(1)(A), 4(1)(C), 4(1-A) (ii) of TNP (Amendment) Act 2024 in Crime No.324 of 2025, on the file of the respondent police, seeks bail.
2. The allegation against the petitioner is that, the petitioner was involved in transportation of 432 liters of liquor along with Karnataka State arrack. The total extent comes around 432 liters and it was transported in a Mahendra Zylo Car.
3. The learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that, the petitioner was arrested on 29.10.2025 and having no bad antecedents. Hence, he prayed for grant of bail to the petitioner.
4. The learned Government Advocate (Criminal Side) reported that totally there are four accused in this case. This petitioner went to Karnataka and 2/5
brought the liquor and on the way, the police parties intercepted and while the accused ran away from the scene of occurrence, the police were able to secure A1/petitioner herein and it is reported that the petitioner is having one previous case. Hence, he opposed for grant of bail to the petitioner.
5. Considering the manner in which the occurrence taken place and huge quantity of liquor has been seized, I am not inclined to grant bail to the petitioner at this stage. Accordingly, this Criminal Original Petition is dismissed.
