Respondent(s) PRAYER This Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, seeking for a Writ of Mandamus, directing the 1 st and 2 nd respondents to provide a new electricity service connection in the petitioner's name to his portion situated in the ground floor of the premises bearing door No.1, Gulam Abbas Ali Khan 1 st Lane, 1 st Street, Thousand Lights, Chennai - 600 006, in accordance with the petitioner representation dated 10.06.2025, within a time frame to be fixed by this Honourable Court.

ORDER

By consent of both the parties, the writ petition is taken up for final disposal, at the stage of admission itself.

2.The case of the petitioner is that the petitioner made a representation dated 10.06.2025 to the respondents to provide a new electricity service

connection in the petitioner's name to his portion situated in the ground floor of the premises bearing door No.1, Gulam Abbas Ali Khan 1 st Lane, 1 st Street, Thousand Lights, Chennai - 600 006. However, the same has not been considered by the respondents 1 and 2 till date. Hence, the present Writ Petition. 3.The learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that this Court may direct the respondents 1 and 2 to consider and pass orders on the petitioner's representation within the stipulated time as fixed by this Court.

The learned Standing Counsel appearing for the respondents 1 and 2 submitted that the representation of the petitioner dated 10.06.2025 has since been closed and hence, a direction be issued to the petitioner to file a fresh representation before the respondents 1 and 2 and thereafter, the same will be considered and orders will be passed within the stipulated time as fixed by this Court.

5. Heard the learned counsel for both side and perused the materials available on record. Since no adverse order is passed against the third respondent, notice to the third respondent is dispensed with.

6. Considering the facts and circumstances of the case and in view of the limited request sought for by the petitioner, this court directs the petitioner to file a fresh representation before the respondents 1 and 2 within a period of two weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order and thereafter, the respondents 1 and 2 are directed to consider and pass orders on the petitioner's representation, in accordance with law, within a period of four weeks thereafter, after providing an opportunity of hearing to the petitioner and to any other aggrieved party.

7. With the above directions, the writ petition is disposed of. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petition is closed. No costs.
