ORDER
The petitioner/A2, who apprehends arrest for the alleged offence under Section 4(1)(C), 4(1)(A) of TNP(Amendment) Act, 2024 in Cr.No.216 of 2025 on the file of the respondent police, seeks anticipatory bail. 1/4
2. The allegation against the petitioner is that when the respondent police were on regular patrol, the accused were found in possession of 96 brandy bottles, each containing 180 ml, intended for sale to the local public for personal gain. Hence, the case.
3. The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submitted that the petitioner has not committed any such offence as alleged by the prosecution. He further submitted that the petitioner is ready to abide by any conditions that may be imposed by this Court and therefore prayed for grant of bail.
4. The learned Government Advocate (Crl. Side) appearing for the respondent police reiterated the prosecution case and submitted that the petitioner has 14 previous cases. Hence, he vehemently opposed the grant of anticipatory bail to the petitioner.
5. Heard both sides and perused the materials available on record.
6. Considering the materials on record and the antecedents of the petitioner, particularly the involvement in 14 previous cases, this Court is not inclined to grant anticipatory bail to the petitioner.
7. Accordingly, this Criminal Original Petition is dismissed. 10.12.2025 Vv 2/4
