ORDER

This writ petition has been filed by the petitioner seeking to direct the 2 nd respondent herein to register the petitioner's Settlement Deed dated 18.09.2025 pending with him as Doc. No P / Gummidipoondi / 244/ 2025 and return the registered document forthwith to the petitioner herein. 2.Mr.U.Baranidharan, learned Special Government Pleader takes notice on behalf of the respondents. By consent of both parties, this writ petition is taken up for final hearing at the admission stage itself. 3.Learned counsel for the petitioner would submit that the petitioner inherited the building bearing D.No.63, /thervazhi Madura Nethaji Nagar, Gummidipoondi from her deceased parents and is in possession from the year

2024. Thereafter, the petitioner intend to settled the aforesaid property in favour her husband and presented the settlement deed dated 18.09.2025. However, till date, the 2 nd respondent has not registered the said settlement deed and returned the same to the petitioner. Hence, the present writ petition has been filed. 4.Learned Special Government Pleader appearing for the respondents would submit that the 2 nd respondent wants to verify the genuineness of the legal heirship certificate produced by the petitioner and hence, the document is kept pending. He would further submit that immediately necessary action will be taken.

5.Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner as well as the learned Special Government Pleader appearing for the respondents and perused the materials available on records.

6.Considering the submissions made by either parties and in view of the limited prayer sought for in this writ petition, without going into the merits of

the case, this Court directs the 2 nd respondent to take a decision with regard registration of settlement deed dated 18.09.2025 after obtaining the genuineness certificate from the Tahsildar. The entire exercise shall be completed within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. 7.With the above direction, this writ petition is disposed of.
