ORDER

This Writ Petition has been filed to direct the Respondents suitably to reimburse the rest of Medical Expenses to the tune of Rs.10,72,615/- and also subsequent post surgery medical expenses to tune of Rs.4,55,000/- in total a sum of Rs.15,27,615/- together with interest at rate of 18 percentage p.m. from 20.02.2023 to till date to realisation for transplant of liver.

2. It is the case of the petitioner that the petitioner was serving as a Tahsildar, in Revenue Department at Gummidipundi Taluk Office, Thiruvallur District and retired from service on 31.12.2017. The petitioner was facing health issues and admitted in hospital on 09.08.2022 and he was discharged on 20.08.2022. The said hospital charged a sum of Rs.20,72,615/- towards total medical expenses for transplantation procedure. As a pensioner, initially, the United India Insurance Company, who is insurer of the Government employee has sanctioned and paid a sum of Rs.7.5 lakhs towards part of medical expenses on 20.08.2022 and again the insurance company made Rs.2,50,000/- . The balance amount has not been paid. Hence, the petitioner made several representations to the respondents for re-reimbursement of the medical expenses

and the same has not been considered. Hence, the present writ petition.

3. The learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that this Court may issue a direction to the second respondent to consider the petitioner's representation dated 22.09.2025 and pass appropriate orders within the stipulated time as fixed by this Court.

4. The learned Government Advocate appearing for the respondents submitted that the representation will be considered and appropriate orders will be passed within the time frame as fixed by this Court.

5. Heard the learned counsels appearing on either side and perused the materials available on record.

6. In view of the limited request made by the petitioner, this Court directs the second respondent to consider the petitioner's representation dated 22.09.2025 and pass appropriate orders within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

7. Accordingly, this Writ Petition is disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs.
