PRAYER Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India for issuance of a Writ of Mandamus directing the respondents to consider the representation of the petitioners dated 04.9.2025 in the light of the orders passed in WP No.6037/2024 dated 07.03.2024 regarding allotment of houses to the petitioners, who have been originally residing at 2nd respondent's Pulianthope Housing Board sites, migrated from Pulianthope to Vyasarpadi under the assurance of providing alternative residential houses, within a time frame to be fixed by this Court.

ORDER
The petitioner seeks a direction to the respondents to consider the representation of the petitioners, dated 04.9.2025, in the light of the orders passed in W.P.No.6037 of 2024 dated 07.03.2024, regarding allotment of houses to the petitioners, who have been originally residing at 2nd respondent's Pulianthope Housing Board sites, migrated from Pulianthope to Vyasarpadi under the assurance of providing alternative residential houses, within a time frame to be fixed by this Court.
2.The petitioners are slum dwellers and they originally resided at Pulianthope and when the Tamil Nadu Housing Board decided to construct housing flats in the said area, they vacated all the petitioners from Pulianthope under the assurance of giving re-allotment in the same Pulianthope after construction of the flats and thereby, all the petitioners have been shifted from Pulianthope to Vyasarpadi. Now, again the respondents are trying to vacate the petitioners from the present place under the guise of putting up new construction in the present place. Though the petitioners have been regularly reminding of the respondents of their promise, no action is forthcoming. Some of the residents have earlier approached this Court by way of a writ petition in W.P.No.6037 of 2024, wherein, this Court, by order dated 07.03.2024, has directed the 2nd respondent to consider the representation of the petitioners therein and pass orders. Hence, they seek similar directions. 3.Mr.D.Veerasekaran, learned Standing Counsel, takes notice for the 1st respondent.
4.In view of the earlier order passed by this Court dated 07.03.2024, in W.P.No.6037 of 2024, filed by similarly placed persons, wherein, this Court had directed the representation of the petitioners to be considered, let the respondents consider the representation of these petitioners also, dated
04.09.2025, on its own merits and in accordance with law, after affording an opportunity of hearing to the petitioners, and pass appropriate orders, within a period of one month from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. 5.With the above directions, this writ petition is disposed of.
