ORDER

The petitioner seeks bail in SC.No. 05 of 2020 in Crime No.663 of 2018 pending on the file of the learned X Additional District and Sessions Court at Chennai for the offence punishable under Sections 294(b), 392 r/w 397, 427 and 506(ii) of IPC.

2.The allegation against the petitioner is that the petitioner was earlier arrested and released on bail, and even after committal to the Sessions Court, he appeared before the trial Court and subsequently jumped bail. Hence, the Non Bailable Warrant was issued on 20.11.2020 and the same is executed on 06.10.2025 and thereafter, he was arrested only recently on 06.10.2025. 2.The learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that the petitioner has a permanent residence and he has already been in judicial custody for nearly 60 days. Hence, he prayed for the grant of bail to the petitioner. 3.The learned Government Advocate (Crl.Side) for the respondent police reported that the petitioner is a habitual offender and he has eight previous cases of a similar nature. Further, the petitioner has absconded for nearly five years.

Hence, he opposed for the grant of bail to the petitioner. 4.Considering the fact that the petitioner was absconded for nearly five years and he has also having bad antecedents of eight previous cases, I am not inclined to grant bail at this stage. Accordingly, this Criminal Original Petition is dismissed.
