ORDER
(Order of the Court was made by the Hon'ble Chief Justice) Challenge to merger of Sub Post Office with the Head Post Office is challenged on the ground that this merger will adversely affect the account holders, pensioners etc.
2. The distance of the existing Post Office from the Head Post Office is not so much that the writ Court itself should interfere with the decision of merger of the Sub Post Office with the Head Post Office, more so, when various facilities which have been indicated in the letter can be availed through online platform. It is also informed by learned counsel for respondents 1 to 3 that there is door step
pension delivery service available to pensioners, besides availability of various online facilities, including mobile banking and internet banking, to all customers.
3. For the foregoing reasons, we are not inclined to interfere with the decision taken by respondents 1 to 3 to merge Sub Post Office with the Head Post Office.
4. The directions which are issued by this Court in its order dated 22.10.2025 in W.P.No.39736 of 2025 shall operate to the benefit of those, who ,till date were availing various facilities in the Post Office at Attur Bazaar.
5. Petition is disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs. (MANINDRA MOHAN SHRIVASTAVA, CJ) (G.ARUL MURUGAN,J) 27.11.2025 Index :
