Respondents PRAYER : Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India seeking issuance of a writ of mandamus directing the respondents 1 to 6 to stop illegal quarrying and excess quarrying of Sand beyond permitted limit from Lake in S.No.24, at Esanthai Village, Kallakurichi Taluk and District by the 7th respondent, to cancel quarry license in Na.Ka.No.38/2023/Mineral, dated 28.08.2025 given to 7th respondent and to take appropriate legal action against 7th respondent for illegally quarrying lake sand beyond permitted level/limit by considering representation given by village people dated 10.11.2025. ORDER
(Order of the Court was made by the Hon'ble Chief Justice) Heard learned counsel for the parties.
2. This petition has been filed for issuance of writ of mandamus directing the official respondents to take action against respondent No.7 on the allegation that respondent No.7 is involved in excess digging of earth beyond the permissible limit under the permission granted.
3. Learned State counsel has placed before this Court the communication dated 3.12.2025, which shows that, based on the complaint of the petitioner, action has already been taken.
4. It appears that the petitioner, without making any enquiry and research, has filed this petition. As the official respondents have already taken action in this matter, there is no need for this Court to issue any direction.
