O R D E R
This writ petition has been filed seeking a direction to the second respondent for issuance of passport to the petitioner.
2. The petitioner applied for passport to the second respondent, but the second respondent has not issued the passport citing the pendency of criminal case in S.C.No.83 of 2022 on the file of District and Sessions Court, Tiruvarur. The learned counsel for the petitioner submits that only one criminal case was pending against the petitioner and that case also ended in acquittal vide judgment dated 02.01.2025 and hence, as of now, there is no case pending against the petitioner.
3. Per contra, the learned Government Advocate (Crl.side) appearing on behalf of Respondents 1 and 3 submits that the trial Court has acquitted the petitioner but the State has filed an appeal as against the order of acquittal, but no details whatsoever has been placed before this Court to substantiate the said submission.
4. The learned Senior Panel counsel for the second respondent would submit that if the petitioner produces the certified copy of the judgment and 2/5
other documents, they are ready to consider the application for issuance of passport as per law.
5. Considering the said submission of learned Senior Panel Counsel for the second respondent, this writ petition is disposed of directing the petitioner to produce the certified copy of the judgment and other requisite documents before the second respondent within a period of two weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. On such production, the second respondent shall consider the same and take a decision in accordance with law within a period of two weeks thereafter. There shall be no order as to costs.
