O R D E R
The present Writ Petition (Criminal) has been filed seeking a direction to the first respondent to appoint a special officer or a special agency to investigate the cases against the petitioner, based on the petitioner's representation dated 09.10.2025 Mr.K.M.D.Muhilan, learned Additional Public Prosecutor, takes notice on behalf of the respondents.
In view of the consent expressed by the learned counsel on either side, this Writ Petition (Criminal) is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself.

Learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submitted that the petitioner's account was misused by the other accused and that he was unnecessarily implicated in the cases. Hence, he prayed for a direction to the first respondent to appoint a special agency to investigate the cases pending against the petitioner.

Per contra, the learned Additional Public Prosecutor submitted that the petitioner, who is involved in online trading scam, has been arrayed as one of the accused in Crime Nos.5, 11 of 2025 and 1342 of 2024, registered on the file of respondents 2 to 4 respectively. He further submitted that the petitioner has now come forward with the representation that he was not aware of the misuse of his account by the other accused. He also submitted that the investigation is being conducted fairly and in accordance with law and therefore, there is no necessity to appoint a special officer or a special agency. He further submitted that an accused cannot seek appointment of a special officer when the investigation is being conducted in a fair manner.

Heard the learned counsel appearing on either side and perused the materials available on record.

Admittedly, the petitioner is an accused in the aforesaid crime numbers and his contention is that his account was misused by the other accused. As per the respondent police, the investigation is being conducted in a fair and proper manner. In such circumstances, this Court is of the opinion that there is no necessity to appoint a special officer or a special agency to investigate the above cases. Accordingly, this Court finds no merit in the present petition.

In view of the above, this Writ Petition (Criminal) stands dismissed. No costs.
