ORDER

The petitioner came forward with this Writ Petition seeking a direction to the first respondent to refund of the following:-

(1) Earnest Money Deposit,

(2) Security Deposit,

(3) Additional Security Deposit,

(4) Retention Money, and

(5) all other pending payments that are due from the respondents.

2. He had earlier approached the second respondent seeking release of the payments. The work had been executed for the erstwhile Madambakkam Town Panchayat. Subsequently, the Government had directed a merger of the said town Panchayat with the second respondent. As the liability was taken 2/5

over by the second respondent, the petitioner knocked the doors of the second respondent but the same was of no avail, hence this Writ Petition.

3. When the matter was taken up, Dr.T.Seenivasan took notice for the first respondent and Mr.P.Srinivas took notice for the second respondent. I adjourned the matter to enable them to get instructions.

4. When I called the matter today, Mr.P.Srinivas submitted that the records, which were transferred from Madambakkam Town Panchayat, have been traced. The detention amounts claimed by the petitioner are being processed and final orders will be passed within a period of two weeks from today.

5. The statement of the learned counsel, stated above, on instructions, is recorded.

6. The respondents are directed to finalise the amount and release the payment within a period of three weeks from today. 3/5
