This Writ Petition has been filed directing the respondents 1 and 3 to consider the petitioner's representation dated 24.09.2025 & 27.10.2025 and consequently direct the fourth respondent to transfer the compensation amount to the petitioner temple situate at Arulmigu Sri Chenna Kesava Perumal Thirukoil situate at 2/8
Perumal Koil Street, New Gummidipoondi, Gummidipoondi Taluk, Thiruvallur District - 601 201 having authorised Bank A/c.No.011801000039755 in Indian Overseasn Bank, Chinthadripet Branch, Chennai and pending disposal of the above writ petition.
2. Heard Mr.S.Wilson, learned counsel for the petitioner and Mr.R.R.Arun Natarajan, learned Special Government Pleader for the respondents.
3. The grievance of the petitioner is that the petitioner temple is a denominational hereditary trust temple and the fifth respondent, land acquisition officer, on behalf of SIPCOT, has initiated acquisition proceedings for industrial development. The compensation for the lands that have been acquired have been deposited into bank account of the fourth respondent instead of the petitioner's temple's authorised bank account. The petitioner has given a representation on 24.09.2025 and again on 27.10.2025, seeking necessary correction and for transfer of compensation to the bank account of the temple. 3/8
4. Mr.R.R.Arun Natarajan, learned Special Government Pleader for the respondents submits that the compensation has been deposited only in the account opened in the name of the temple. However, suitable steps will be taken to dispose of the latest representation of the petitioner dated 27.10.2025, after verifying the necessary records. The learned Special Government Pleader invited my knowledge to the revenue records which are mutated in the name of Vannur Venkateswara Koil, represented by its Dharmakartha. He would therefore state that the funds whould be transferred in the name of the temple. The learned counsel for the petitioner has no objection for the funds being transferred to the temple's bank account.
5. In view of the same, this Writ Petition is disposed of, direction to the respondents to pass final orders on the petitioner's representation dated 27.10.2025 within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. No 4/8
costs.
